Being the kind of parent you admire is not wishful thinking.

And it doesn’t have to feel like more work, either.

Do you sometimes look back on your day with a hint of guilt about not being a “good” parent? Maybe you lost your cool with your kids. Maybe you felt overwhelmed with your to-do list before the clock even hit 7am. Maybe you ignored your family while you took a moment to catch up on your emails (or Facebook). Maybe dinner was a box of mac n' cheese, again.

You are already a good parent. You just need a few tools to help you retrain your brain so that stress no longer gets the best of you.

After taking this course, you will:

  • Start a mindfulness practice that doesn’t involve devoting your life to a guru or spending hours cross-legged on a cushion. If you can breathe, you can do this!
  • Calm down! Learn how your brain can be trained to instinctively respond differently to stress so that you no longer feel overwhelmed when the going gets tough.
  • Connect with your family in meaningful ways while making it fun. Raising kind, compassionate kids, will come even more naturally.
  • Implement techniques that calm you down, in the moment, when you would normally come unraveled.
  • Wire your brain for decreased anxiety and increased happiness, and help your kids do the same. (Hint: It doesn't involve a glass of wine, or gummy bears.)
  • Let go of the perfectionism trap. Your kids will thank you, and that weight on your shoulders will lift.

How it works:

Parents, you have to put your oxygen mask on first.

  • Step 1 – Watch, Listen and Learn: Dr. Kristen Race will help you understand the brain science that backs up the benefits of each mindfulness activity. Once you know it, it’s hard to ignore it!
  • Step 2 – Practice: Each module focuses on a simple mindfulness activity that you can start practicing anywhere, anytime. Learn how to connect with your children in more meaningful ways by first connecting with yourself.
  • Step 3 – Mirror and Mentor: Each module includes an activity that you can do with your kids. Not only will your kids benefit from you being calmer and less cranky, but you can help them train their own brains.

I knew I was a good mom but I also knew I could do better. This course was a perfect guide.

My daughter has ADHD and she holds a lot of tension and energy inside. She has become so self aware that she is starting to notice her own feelings before they erupt! She has a feeling of control that she’s never known, and with that has come confidence and peace. It is the most proud I’ve ever been.

– Sarah.

The course exceeded my expectations. It gave me concrete things to work on and keep in mind as I went through my day.

I could feel a difference in myself. This was exactly what I needed. I looked forward to the modules and I loved all of the extra things – printables, recommended apps, videos, etc. I think this way of receiving information fits perfectly into my life!
– Katherine

Most days, I am more calm and less reactive.

The course is informative and presented in short, easy to process modules. The assignments help internalize the information, and the way the material is presented allows time to process and to try before learning something new.
– Natalie

I already feel more calm and able to approach my role as a mom and wife with more clarity and less anxiety.

I honestly believe that my brain is working better. My children seem more calm because they are mirroring my emotions and reactions.

I wondered if this might be hoaky or too "soft." However I found the opposite was able to learn about the science behind mindfulness and take away some sound strategies.
– Julie

It teaches parents how to be involved in their children's life, how to play and how to have fun with each other.

You're creating awesome memories that your children will remember forever! And to think that this could be passed on to my grandchildren is really cool. I loved this program and would definitely recommend it to others.
– Leslie

Frequently Asked Questions

How much time do I need to devote to the course?

Two 10–12 minute videos will be delivered each week. The activities will take you a few seconds to a few minutes to complete. Many of the activities are designed to be worked into your daily life, like during dinner conversations,on car rides, or as part of your morning routine. The course is meant to be practical. It won’t feel like work.

What age group should my kids be for me to get the most out of this course?

We designed the Foundations of Mindful Parenting course for parents of kids aged 0–16. We also created activities that appeal to younger kids as well as activities for older kids. Across the school-age spectrum, we’ve got you covered. But remember, this course is focused on parents first.

How do I get my kids to join in?

First off, this course is all about you, the parent. The best way to teach your kids mindfulness is by modeling it. If you know that old saying, “Do as I say, not as I do,” you probably know it doesn’t work that well. Our kids learn by modeling what we do. (It’s all about mirror neurons, which you’ll learn about in the course.) That’s why we start with you.

But I’ll also show you how to teach some interesting brain science to your kids that they can use right away. And there are plenty of fun activities you’ll do with your kids to involve the entire family in the process.

Do I have to meditate?

You are not alone. I’ve heard every excuse and witnessed every eye roll as I’ve taught formal practices to thousands. My methods are specifically created for those who have a hard time committing to the cushion. The five-minute-a-day formal breathing practice is a small but important part of the course. The crux of the course is a toolbox of exercises for you to use in the moment to combat stress, optimize your brain for better focus and productivity, and to increase your happiness.

Do I need the Mindful Parenting book?

While the Foundations of Mindful Parenting course does review some of the content in my book, the main purpose for the course is to get the information out of your head and into your life. Being a mindful parent takes practice. This course will help you put mindfulness into action on a daily basis and in a structured way.

We do plan to offer more courses that expand on the foundations of mindfulness we teach in this course. The Foundations of Mindful Parenting course will be a required prerequisite for access to the more in-depth courses. If you’re already committed to the mindfulness journey, think of this course as the perfect refresher.

Let’s face it, we could all use continual reminders about how to be mindful.

How do I access the course?

You will receive a private login username and password that you can use to access the course on the course website. You can access the course on your phone, tablet or computer. We'll send you an email with a link each Sunday and Wednesday to let you know the next module of the course is ready. Easy as 1-2-3.

I'm so busy. How will you keep me accountable?

You’ll receive twice-weekly emails that nudge you to check out the latest module. You’ll get a checklist you can use to check off each module, if that’s your style (*raises hand / me too!*). We’ve even created a fun BINGO game to help you and your kids stay accountable. (Yes, mindfulness is fun! It’s not all about meditation cushions and yoga retreats.)

Can I binge watch the whole course?

I encourage you to watch the videos and incorporate the activities little by little. That’s why we are opening the modules one at a time. If you don’t get to the videos right away, don’t worry. You’ll have time to catch up. But try to focus on one module at a time to get the most out of the course. Each week will have an overarching theme that builds on the week before.

What if I get behind in the course?

No problem. We designed this course to fit your lifestyle. You can follow along at your own pace. Even if you’re in the Mastermind Program and can’t attend our weekly calls, they will be recorded for you to watch later.

How long will I have access to the course?

You can access the course for one year. So if you feel like you need a refresher in a few months, we’re here for you.

What support do I get?

If you have a specific question, email us at info@mindullifetoday.com. We also invite you to join a private Facebook community. I’ll be right with you as we go through the course together. It’s your opportunity to ask me anything.
