Foundations of Mindful Parenting

In the 4-week Foundations of Mindful Parenting online course, Dr. Kristen Race guides you step-by-step in how to incorporate simple mindfulness activities into your everyday life so that parenting feels less like a struggle and more like a privilege.

Start a mindfulness practice that doesn’t involve devoting your life to a guru or spending hours cross-legged on a cushion. If you can breathe, you can do this!

Calm down! Learn how your brain can be trained to instinctively respond differently to stress so that you no longer feel overwhelmed when the going gets tough.

Connect with your family in meaningful ways while making it fun. Raising kind, compassionate kids, will come even more naturally.

Implement techniques that calm you down, in the moment, when you would normally come unraveled.

Wire your brain for decreased anxiety and increased happiness, and help your kids do the same. (Hint: It doesn't involve a glass of wine, or gummy bears.)

Each module includes an activity that you can do with your kids. Not only will your kids benefit from you being calmer and less cranky, but you can help them train their own brains.

Who is the course for?

The Foundations of Mindful Parenting course is for parents, step-parents, grandparents, prospective parents or carers of children aged 0–16 years.

What can I expect?

The online course runs for 4 weeks from Monday, October 9 until Friday, November 3, 2017 and consists of 8 (short n’ sweet) modules which are emailed to you on Sunday and Wednesday each week.

Each module consists of a 10-12 minute video, audio and/or PDF transcript of the lesson so you can easily squeeze it into your busy day no matter how you like to learn. In each module, Dr. Kristen Race presents:

  •  The brain science that backs up the benefits of each mindfulness practice.
  • A simple yet powerful activity for you to incorporate into your everyday life.
  • Plus complementary mindfulness practices for your kids.
