About Mindful Life™
Mindful Life™ trains schools, teachers, parents, businesses, camps, youth sports teams and after-school programs in our brain-based mindfulness programs. Our programs build resiliency to the stressors that our time-pressed, technology-driven, over-scheduled world presents. Meet Our Our Training Coordinator:
Sylvie Piquet
Sylvie Piquet RYT was hand picked by Mindful Life™ to assist in coordinating trainings for schools, camps and after-school programs across the nation. Sylvie fell in love with the Mindful Life™ method while applying it in schools while teaching kids ages two through eleven.
She graduated from Bowdoin College with a B.A. in Education Studies. In addition to leading Mindful Life™ trainings, she is also a registered yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance and is the Camp Director at Camp Beech Cliff, an outdoor education day camp for kids located in Mount Desert, Maine.
Sylvie excels in increasing the social and emotional awareness in kids using the Mindful Life™ methodology. She’s passionate about helping kids increase the accessibility of their higher level thinking (prefrontal cortex functions) and decreasing their reactions to today’s stressors.
Meet Our Top Ambassador:
Nattiel Pierson
Nattiel wants to live in a world where the sun shines everyday and people compassionately care for each other. As a Mindful Life Ambassador she is gracefully raising the profile of mindfulness and is the corporate trainer for Kids’ Adventures. When she is not training staff and children on mindfulness you can find her teaching yoga, or on a bike getting her daily sweat on or spending time with her loved ones.
Meet Our Top Ambassador:
Karen Goodman
Karen is an educator, a mindfulness instructor, a yoga teacher and a lifelong lover of learning. She has lead trainings, hosted workshops and taught yoga to countless people of all ages (and loves teaching kids and teens the most). She is currently a Mindful Life Schools ambassador as well as a full time Instructional Coach in Jefferson County, Colorado.
Karen has taught and worked as an interventionist and instructional coach in elementary and middle schools for the past 16 years. Throughout her teaching she has seen first hand how much mindfulness practices impact students' learning. These lifelong practices are so important that she finds ways to integrate them into her everyday teaching with students of all ages. In her spare time Karen loves to (mindfully) ride her bike, ski, run and dig in the garden.
Meet our Chief Operating Officer:
Kenny Reisman
Kenny Reisman is an original member of the Mindful Life™ team. Prior to Mindful Life™, he spent 13 years as a classroom teacher, and 18 years as a youth sports coach. He left the teaching profession for the same reason so many others do -- he was feeling very burned out. Upon learning about the goals and mission of Mindful Life™, he joined up to help spread this work to people around the world. Kenny’s responsibilities as Chief Operating Officer are limitless, as is his passion for this work.
Kenny is heavily involved in his local community in Steamboat Springs, CO, where he has been a member of their City Council for the past six years, coaches various youth sports teams, and volunteers on local boards of two non-profits. He is most mindful when he is out on a river, enjoying fly fishing in Northwest Colorado.
We believe that small changes can make a big difference for the young and the old. We also believe that if we can teach children mindfulness skills early on, they will live happier, healthier and more productive lives.
The Mindful Life™ programs for schools, families, businesses, camps and after-school programs combine what we know about the brain with practices that help our brains function the most effectively.
